M. Shane Chapman, MD:  Dr. Chapman was born in Louisiana, graduated cum laude from Tulane University in 1990.  He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1995.  After completing his internship in internal medicine at the University of Texas at Houston, he moved to New Hampshire to begin his dermatology residency at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.  He has been a staff dermatologist at DHMC from 1999 to the present.  He was honored with the most outstanding teacher award in 2004 (Class of 2006) at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and again nominated in 2011 (Class of 2013).  Dr. Chapman has published many articles on a wide range of topics including melanoma, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, the retinoids and medical education.  He is the co-author of the best-selling dermatology textbook, Skin Disease, which is now in its 3rd edition, and found in 7 languages, including Mandarin Chinese and Farsi.  Dr. Chapman directs the clinical trials in Dermatology, recently founded the Multi-disciplinary Melanoma Clinic, as well as The Laser, Light and Optics center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, in conjunction with Thayer School of Engineering.  He became Associate Professor in 2006 and Section Chief of Dermatology in 2011.

M. Shane Chapman, MD has disclosed possible conflicts of interest, which have been resolved by the Chair through an independent peer review of the presentation's content.  Dr. Chapman has grant/research support from Pfizer, Celgene, and Janssen.biotech; and is a consultant for Genentech.  Dr. Chapman may discuss the Unlabeled/Off-label use of the FDA-approved products Adalimumab, Infliximab, Etanercept, and Ustekinumab.
