Abstract:  In this talk I will discuss systems which violate the Null Energy
Condition. In particular, these models can serve as the Phantom Dark Energy. I will show that
any such system should have the Hamiltonian unbounded from below.
However, this Hamiltonian can possess a local minimum. The price for
the NEC-violation is the superluminal sound speed for the
perturbations around some backgrounds. Thus these models cannot be
UV-completed in the standard Wilsonian way.
