The first meeting in the "Moving Dartmouth Forward" series will focus on Dartmouth's year-round academic calendar of quarterly terms. The topic reflects President Hanlon's call for a review of the D-Plan, to help Dartmouth ensure that it provides the best academic and social experience for undergraduates. The discussion will be led by Bruce Sacerdote, the Richard S. Braddock 1963 Professor in Economics and chair of the faculty D-Plan Enrollment Study Group, and Christiane Donahue, associate professor of linguistics and director of the Institute for Writing and Rhetoric, a member of the committee.

"Moving Dartmouth Forward" is a series of discussions featuring a different topic affecting the Dartmouth campus every other week and is sponsored by the Office of the President. The discussions are open to students, faculty, and staff. All meetings in the series will be held from noon to 1 p.m., and then again from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The dialogues provide an opportunity for Dartmouth to share information about the status of current institutional initiatives and address questions about Dartmouth’s future in the rapidly changing higher education landscape.
