Memorial Service for Torin Tucker '15
Memorial service to be followed by candle lighting on Baker Lawn and a reception in Collis Common Ground.
A memorial service for Torin Tucker ’15, who died on February 1 while competing for Dartmouth in a cross country skiing event, has been set for Wednesday, February 5, at 7 p.m., in Rollins Chapel.
The service will include reflections from Dean Charlotte Johnson and students. It will be followed by a candle-lighting ceremony on Baker Lawn and then a gathering with a photo slideshow and refreshments in Collis Common Ground.
Tucker's family will be present at the service.
In addition to being a member of the cross country ski team, Tucker was also a member of the Chi Heorot fraternity. His friends have remembered his kind ways and sunny disposition.
Writing in a campus-wide communication on Saturday, President Phil Hanlon ’77 said he had expressed the community's "deepest sympathies … at this time of heartbreaking loss," to Tucker's family.
