Christina Courtin is a singer, violinist, and songwriter; her music occupies the middle ground between contemporary folk, vocal jazz, and alternative pop/rock. A graduate of the Juilliard School, in 2009 Christina released her first, self-titled, album on Nonesuch Records and was featured on NPR's World Cafe. While at Juilliard, she was part of a workshop that worked with Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble. She performs regularly with The Knights, an ensemble founded by fellow Juilliard graduates, brothers Colin and Eric Jacobsen.
Christina taught Music 30: Composition Seminar this term and there will be a class performance at 4 PM on Monday, May 19 on the Maffei Arts Plaza (rain location TBA).
