Throughout the weekend, Professor Gamboa will lead participants through a literary and theatrical labyrinth of plots, language, and themes. Gamboa received high marks from alumni who attended our spring Shakespeare weekend at the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia. One Shakespeare veteran wrote, "Professor Gamboa was one of the best lecturers on Shakespeare and theater I have ever heard."

The program begins on Saturday, September 27 with a backstage tour of the Festival theatres. (This same tour is offered on Sunday morning.) Then, we gather for a luncheon discussion of The Comedy of Errors prior to the matinee performance at 1:30 pm. We will reconvene at 5:30 pm, in time to make the 8 pm curtain call, for a dinner discussion of Richard III. On Sunday, enjoy the backstage tour or a stroll through Lithia Park, included in the National Register of Historic Places and famous for its charm and beauty. Gamboa will conclude our weekend with a luncheon discussion.

If your schedule allows for a Friday arrival, we invite you to attend The Two Gentlemen of Verona, for which we have reserved a block of tickets. Gamboa will attend the wine and cheese tasting on Friday night.
