Navigating College Admissions at Homecoming

Ideally, students should start planning for college early in their high school career, ensuring a comprehensive plan for their high school courses and extracurricular activities.

This event is for Alumni of Dartmouth and their children and is not open to the general public/community of Hanover.

Ideally, students should start planning for college early in their high school career, ensuring a comprehensive plan for their high school courses and extracurricular activities. This workshop is designed to familiarize parents and their college-bound children in grades 9-11 with the national college admissions process. Topics include:

  • Researching and visiting schools
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Completing college application
  • Understanding financial aid options

Workshop Schedule

1-2 pm: Preparation for College and the College Search

2:15-3pm: The Application and the Student Voice

3:15-4:15 pm: Introduction to Financial Aid and Q & A

* This event is not intended to promote Dartmouth College as a possible choice for you child and is not a workshop on how to get into Dartmouth. Attending this workshop will not have an impact on an application if your child decides to apply to Dartmouth.

Hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations in partnership with the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.


This is a free workshop for alumni and their children on the national college application and admissions process. Registration is required and will open by mid-September.
