Title: "Test Particle Simulations of Inner Zone Proton Belt Loss During Geomagnetic Storms"

Abstract: The variability of the proton flux in the outer region of the inner radiation belt is of major interest. Solar proton events have been shown to be able to dramatically alter the flux in the L = 2 to 3 region, both causing increases and decreases. Current models are unable to accurately predict these changes when compared with observational data. In order to improve the models, the inductive electric field generated by the time changing ring current is added, so that proper radial inward and outward motion, due to the E x B drift, and the corresponding energy changes associated with the first adiabatic invariant are taken into account.
