Screenwriter and Dartmouth professor Bill Phillips ’71 spent three years writing and shooting this definitive documentary about New England artist Sabra Field. Renowned for rural Vermont landscapes rendered in giant, flat blocks of color, Field entered the pop culture lexicon with her iconic hay barn on the 1991 Vermont Bicentennial stamp. Sabra traces Field’s early life, move to Vermont, artistic influences, success, love and loss—all of which continue to shape her talent and sensibility. (57m plus bonus footage).
