Composing for Light-Responsive Proteins: The Chromochord Installation and Sonification Design of Biochemical Data

Sonification is a process that uses sound to connect listeners to non-musical phenomena. The Chromochord Installation is a sonification of light-responsive proteins in which the translation of real-time data seeks to communicate the inner processes of biological molecules. In this presentation, I will review the principles behind the sonification design of The Chromochord Installation, the construction of the sonification engine, and the potential of auditory displays.

Light refreshments will be served after talk.

Hosted by the EE Just Program. Co-Sponsored by the Neukom Institute.
