Visual artist Synthia Saint James, whose work is featured on the covers of books by best-selling authors Alice Walker and Terry McMillan, will lead a workshop on designing a book cover. Designer of the first US postal stamp for the Kwanzaa holiday, as well as an award-winning children’s book author and illustrator, Saint James will share stories of her career as a successful multicultural artist as she guides participants in creating their own book cover using collage and other media. Your cover might be for a favorite book from childhood or adulthood--or for a book that has yet to be written!
