High school students will work collaboratively with Dartmouth faculty, staff, and students to design, build, and test engineering prototypes. Hands-on activities throughout the workshop will help them explore and understand engineering. The workshop is designed for students to:

  • Experience the creativity of engineering and the many interdisciplinary opportunities it offers,
  • Develop engineering skills, including problem-solving and design skills,
  • Use computer-aided software for design (SolidWorks) and machining (such as laser-cutting and 3D printing)
  • Have fun!

The first week of the program will focus on the development of engineering skills such as engineering problem-solving, design thinking, and spatial reasoning. During the second week of the workshop students will focus on designing and building an engineering prototype of their choice.
