Frequent collaborators James Franco and Jonah Hill—known more for their stoner comedies than their Oscar nods—bring their drama game to the silver screen together for the first time. When a disgraced New York Times reporter (Hill) discovers a suspected murderer (Franco) has been masquerading as him, he sees his next big story and a ticket to redemption.
