With inventive stagecraft employing acrobatics and illusion, internationally celebrated director and designer Thaddeus Phillips and his four-member cast conjure this striking and surreal “action opera” examining the mysterious final days of Edgar Allan Poe—who, history tells us, set off for New York but instead ended up, delirious and disheveled, in Baltimore. Told through eerie, enchanting songs by musician/actors Jeremy and David Wilhelm, Red-Eye takes the audience on “without a doubt, one of the most spellbinding trips…in a long time” (Boston Globe).
