Ferran’s symphony, reflecting on the nature-inspired work of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, serves as the foundation for a concert of wind ensemble works imbued with the clarity and splendor of Earth and Sky. These include Ito’s evocation of the ravaged, yet hopeful landscapes of post-tsunami Japan and Turrin’s driving and lyrical concerto for trumpet.
