BENJAMIN BAGBY director

Led by renowned singer, musician and scholar Benjamin Bagby—who enthralled Hop audiences in 2009 with his solo Beowulf—Sequentia dusts off early music and forges a living connection to the past. In a meticulously researched and vividly imagined program, Bagby (vocals, harp), Norbert Rodenkirchen (medieval flute) and Hanna Marti (vocals, harp) explore the little-known secular music of medieval monks, who set to music earthy, pre-Christian Roman writings, giving voice to their pagan ancestors.
