"An Ideology of Opinion:  

The American Revolution in Education"

A public talk by Geoffrey Harphamthe Senior Fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University.  He was director of the National Humanities Center from 2003-15.  Harpham has written on a wide range of topics, including the role of ethics in literary study, the concept of language, and the work of Joseph Conrad.  In recent years, he has focused on issues relating to the humanities and liberal education.  His lecture is drawn from an in-progress book called The American Revolution in Education.
