The Leading Voices in Higher Education Lecture Series brings creative and strategic leaders from a variety of disciplines to Dartmouth to discuss critical issues in higher education. The 2015-2016 series will engage the campus in stimulating discussions about building and sustaining inclusive environments for teaching and learning.

Susan Sturm, George M. Jaffin Professor of Law and Social Responsibility and the founding director of the Center for Institutional and Social Change at Columbia Law School will speak about “Building the Architecture of Full Participation”. Sturm’s areas of teaching and research include institutional change, structural inequality in employment and higher education, transformative leadership, and diversity and innovation. She collaborates with a variety of organizations, including colleges and universities, on building the “architecture of inclusion”: identifying institutional conditions that enable people in different roles to flourish, mobilizing for change, and integrating publicly engaged scholarship, diversity programs, and student success initiatives.

Sturm’s visit is sponsored by the Offices of the Provost and Institutional Diversity & Equity.
