Prof. Lomnitz's scholarshop is wide-ranging, as is his engagement, as a practicing journalist, with Mexican intellectual life. In addition to authoring seven highly regarded books, he writes a bi-weekly column in the Mexico City newspaper La Jornada and has co-written a prize-winning historical play on intellectuals and power.
