Even with your Dartmouth degree, launching and navigating your career will be challenging and at times mysterious. While you can’t - probably wouldn’t want to - map out every twist and turn,  there are key principles, strategies, and tactics that will make a meaningful difference in starting up and building your career.  All bosses, for example, are not created equal, so finding the “right” one can be a game changer.  And how you figure out what’s even out there, nail interviews, and find a role that plays to your strengths and is a good cultural fit, may mean the difference between stress and bliss.

Jim Citrin P'17 is a partner at Spencer Stuart, a global executive search and leadership consulting firm, where he leads the CEO practice. He is author of The Career Playbook: Essential Advice for Today's Aspiring Young Professional

Professor Sydney Finkelstein is the Steven Roth Professor of Management at the Tuck School of Business. He is the author of Superbosses: How Exceptional Leaders Master the Flow of Talent.

Undergraduate students should register through the Event Calendar on DartBoard.
