In this two-part class (attendance in both sessions is required) we'll work as a group to print a letterpress one-sheet book on our large Vandercook press.  Each person will set a page of the book written in an exquisite corpse style.  This is a Dadaist-type writing game where one person writes a sentence on a sheet of paper and hands the sheet to the next person.  That person then adds a sentence, but folds down the first person's sentence.  The next person can only see the previous sentence and has to write a new one.  The process continues till you have an absurd story.

Emphasis will be placed on the proper techniques for setting metal hand type, press work, and the selection of appropriate type faces.  Previous experience in a Letterpress Orientation is preferred, but not required.  All materials, tools and equipment are provided.  Registration is required.
