Professor Matthew Screech, Manchester Metropolitan University, Department of Languages, Information and Communications, will extend the investigation into clear line's evolution as far as 2013, and discuss Dutch, French, and Swiss artists who have received little sustained critical attention either among Anglophones or in their countries of origin.  A final question that he will address is how linge claire became such a dominant style of drawing in both mainstream comics and more avant-garde graphic novels.
