Objectives – Participants will be able to:
1.      Review the mechanisms of action of SGLT2 inhibitors relevant to the treatment of diabetes mellitus.
2.      Discuss clinical effects of SGLT2 inhibitors and major outcomes studies from the published literature.
3.      Discuss adverse effects of SGLT2 inhibitors that are currently known and/or being studied. 
 
Susan Yuditskaya, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the DHMC Section of Endocrinology. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, participated in the NIH Intramural Clinical Training Program, and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She completed both a research fellowship and a clinical fellowship in endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD before joining the faculty at DHMC in August 2015. Her research interests have included comparison of ethnic differences in insulin sensitivity. She is the course director for the Geisel School of Medicine clinical elective in endocrinology, the director of the endocrinology elective for internal medicine residents, and a lecturer, small group leader and problem based learning group leader for the Scientific Basis of Medicine course.
