“Using Open as an Asset: Opportunities to Broaden Your Impact”,  presentation and discussion led by Dr. Meredith Niles, Assistant Professor in Nutrition and Food Sciences, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Vermont.  Learn about the ways doing research and teaching in the “open” can forward your work and support your career goals. Dr. Niles will discuss her experience as a new faculty member developing courses in emerging fields, and her use of open educational materials.  Following the presentation, Dr. Rachel Obbard, Assistant Professor of Engineering, and Brett Anderson, PhD candidate in Physics and Astronomy, will share their experiences attending OpenCon on the Dartmouth sponsored travel scholarship, and how that has impacted their work. Information about travel scholarships to OpenCon2016 will be presented at the end of this program.
