“Thyroid Nodules: Managing the Epidemic”

Objectives – Participants will be able to:

 

  1. Understand the prevalence of papillary microcarcinoma and its implications for assessing thyroid nodules
  2. Understand the Bethesda classification of thyroid nodule cytology
  3. Understand the role of molecular testing in evaluating thyroid nodules

 

Dr. Ross received his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his medical degree from Harvard.  He completed his residency and endocrine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he has served as the co-Director of the Thyroid Associates Clinic for more than 30 years. He is the Thyroid Section Editor of UpToDate.  As chair of the American Thyroid Association (ATA) Task Force on Hyperthyroidism, he is responsible for updating the ATA guidelines for hyperthyroidism management. He serves on the Editorial Board of Thyroid and is a member of the National Thyroid Cancer Treatment Cooperative Study Group.
