The Catholic Student Center at Dartmouth College is sponsoring the program, "Compassionate Care: Understanding Catholic Teaching on Care at End of Life." Fr. Myles Sheehan, a Jesuit priest and a physician returns to Dartmouth as an Alumni and our guest speaker for our celebration of Faith and Reason. Fr. Myles Sheehan will be addressing your questions about Catholic Teaching on Care at End of Life Issues.
The topics to be discussed include:
• What is the teaching of the Catholic Church on end-of-life care?
• What is palliative care and what types of measures can be appropriate for those with serious illnesses?
• Why is the Catholic Church against assisted suicide?
• Why are Catholic called to advocate for legislation?
• It’s my body. Why can’t I just end my life when I want to end my life?
