Hello, my name is Elizabeth (Liz) Harrington and I am a Floating Associate Teacher. I have a BS in Early Childhood Studies with an option in Early Care and Education from Plymouth State University in 2009. Before arriving here, I spent time as a Preschool Teacher at Sandwich Children’s Center as well as an Early Childhood Teacher at Plymouth State (working with children and mentoring college students). I found my way here in August if 2011! Over my many years here at D4C, I’ve had the pleasure of working in a variety of roles in a myriad of classrooms.
I am a huge advocate for the Arts and their integration into the classroom curriculum. Music, Theater, and Visual Arts have been a part of my life from when I was very young. You may see me sharing one of my many musical instruments from my collection with your child- there’s nothing better than getting to touch and play a real accordion or a digeridoo! I also believe in the constructivist and project approaches to young children’s learning and they regularly influence my practice.
Outside of work I enjoy all things nature (rock collecting, camping, hiking, etc.), fiddling with technology, baking, and creating all types of art (visual and otherwise) with my husband Josh and my son Theo in our home in Canaan, NH.
