Robert: "[Pudge Neidlinger] was the dean. That was the whole deanship. One of the experiences you really didn't want to have [was] to come back to your dorm and find a little card under the door [saying], 'Please see me in the morning. Dean Neidlinger.' You didn't know whether to pack your bags or just wait, because you knew he didn't want to see you and talk about, 'How's it going, son? How's your folks?' and so forth. He didn't want to do that. … He wasn't mean or cruel, he was just firm."
