Richard: "They [the veterans] were probably … many of them were more serious, less of the horseplay, less of the frivolous activity probably, at that time. I recall visiting in the dorms with some of the veterans and so forth. They treated the young kids nicely but there was sort of a gulf between somebody who was sixteen, fresh out of high school and somebody who just came back from Europe."
