Paul: "When we departed, we didn't have any graduation ceremony and we went on a speeded-up program where we finished up in December '42 instead of June '43 …. We had dinner at Thayer Hall and they handed out the diplomas …. That was it."

Ruth: "It [living at Wigwam Circle] was tight. It was sort of like camping out. People were very friendly…. It was an experience.… We weren't working outside the home. We were working at home raising children."
