Description
Two leaves, not conjoint, of a missal created probably in Arezzo, Italy, ca. 1100-1150. There are twelve or thirteen lines of text on each leaf with a single-line staff. Neumes are typical of those used in Arezzo at the time. The text is rubricated and there are several large initials. The text is of a special mass for the dead, si einem credimus, used for the requiem mass for children and bishops.
