Esther Haley Walker, Associate General Counsel
Esther Haley Walker, joined the Office of General Counsel in 2017. Esther served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington, assigned to the University of Washington in Seattle, and as a senior associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Hogan Lovells US LLP (formerly Hogan & Hartson). Esther has advised on a wide range of regulatory and transactional matters, including compliance with federal statutes and regulations on financial aid and student records, accreditation, civil rights, governance, and contracts with third-party service providers. Esther clerked for Judge Gerald Bruce Lee of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and Judge Karen Nelson Moore of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit before entering legal practice.
Esther received her B.A. in English, and Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
