Night Security - Guards
Night Security checks over 100 buildings on campus nightly between the hours of 7:30PM and 5:30AM. These checks are done at random times to prevent anyone from patterning our movements, but generally occur on a two to three hour rotation.
The Night Security Officer perform a physical security check looking for such things as fires, water leaks, apparent mechanical problems or failures, lights or coffee pots left on, etc. Doors and windows found unsecured will be locked.
Whenever an issue is found, the Night Security Officer make a notation for appropriate follow-up and notifies our Dispatch Center. If a mechanical problem is discovered, the College Troubleshooter is contacted to make necessary emergency repairs. If the problem is particularly serious, our Dispatch Center might contact the individual in charge of the facility for further instructions.
