Born in Ghana, Joyce Sackey came to the U.S. to attend Dartmouth. She is the dean for Multicultural Affairs and Global Health at Tufts University School of Medicine.
MAKING A MARKSackey is the cofounder of the Foundation for African Relief, a nonprofit organization that fosters collaboration between academic medical centers in the US and their counterparts in sub-Saharan Africa. Her work has dramatically improved access to education and health care and impacted the lives of countless people living with HIV/AIDS in Ghana and Sudan.
