A painter, professor and former chair of Studio Art, Thompson has taught at Dartmouth since 1979.
MAKING A MARKA previous resident of the Rockefeller and Bogliasco Foundations, Thompson often travels for inspiration. Italy is a favorite destination to pursue her interest in medieval painting, and a recent Bowery Gallery exhibition drew from her travels in Morocco.
IN HER OWN WORDS"It's important for students to know that their professors are dedicated in what they're doing, too," Thompson says about life as an artist and professor. "They hear and see that Dartmouth faculty are in the studios and showing their work, and that it's possible to have a life as an artist."
