All animal protocols must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). If the animal protocol involves any of the following agents, use of these agents in animals must also be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). Please submit a modification to your IBC registration in BioRAFTand notify the Biosafety Officer to obtain IBC approval for these experiments.
Agents that can infect and/or cause disease in humans, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, rickettsia, prions, protozoans, or parasites
Genetically-altered organisms (including transgenics and knockouts)
Human cell lines, blood, bodily fluid, organs, tissues
Recombinant or synthetic DNA or RNA molecules
Cells/tissues that have been transfected/transduced to express recombinant or synthetic DNA or RNA
