The Dartmouth strategic master plan, led by President Phil Hanlon '77 and Provost Joe Helble and the Board of Trustees, is being conducted in-house by the Planning Office of Campus Services along with a team of master planning consultants.
The master plan process began with a nationwide search for a visionary consulting team with experience working with a complex campus like Dartmouth's. The New York firm of Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners was chosen to lead the master planning effort. Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, based in New York and Cambridge, MA, will serve as landscape architect. Together, the two firms have had experience of campus planning and design at nearly 40 colleges and universities across the United States. The master plan team also includes BFJ Planning for Transportation and Parking, BuroHappold and Atelier Ten for resiliency and sustainability, and Nitsch Engineering for stormwater planning.
