Dartmouth Parking Permit Renewal
All vehicles parking on campus will require new registration with Dartmouth Transportation Services starting July 1, 2024, and must display a newly issued FY25 parking permit. Permits issued will expire June 30, 2025.
Renewal Instructions
It’s easy to renew your parking permit online at parking.dartmouth.edu. At the parking portal, click "Get Permits." Use your Dartmouth I.D. and password to log in, then follow all directions carefully. If you do not have computer access to renew online, please make an appointment to visit the Transportation Services office located in the basement of North Massachusetts Hall for assistance.
Payment Options
Payroll Deduction: When renewing your permit online at parking.dartmouth.edu, choose "payroll deduction" as your payment option from the dropdown selection if you prefer to have the parking fee deducted on a pro-rated basis from your biweekly or monthly payroll. You'll also enjoy the savings of pre-tax payment with this option.
Full Payment: Pay for the period July through June in full with a credit card at parking.dartmouth.edu.
Deadline Instructions and Important Information
To ensure all permits are distributed before July 1, the online renewal deadline is June 23, 2024. All permits will be delivered via Hinman. To ensure accurate delivery, check, and if necessary, update your Hinman address in these two locations, the Dartmouth Directory Manager and Employee Self-Service. Outstanding parking citations must be paid prior to permit renewal. Personal permit type eligibility will display during the online process.

Dartmouth Faculty and Staff Parking Options
Options: When signing into your personal parking account on the parking portal at parking.dartmouth.edu, the permits you are eligible for will display during the online process. All payments deducted via payroll. These options may include:
Daily Permit: Transportation Services will provide a daily parking option for employees in campus surface lots at a rate of $4 a day. Daily permits are not valid in the Anderson Parking Garage, Webster Avenue, ParkMobile or reserved parking spaces. Daily permit holders are not required to pay the $4 a day fee when parked in the Dewey Lot. See daily parking FAQ.
Green Permit: Allows access to all Faculty/Staff lots, except Channing Cox and Anderson Garage. Renewal is limited to current green permit holders. Join the green waitlist on the parking portal.
Tan Permit: Allows access to designated lots on the periphery of core campus work locations. Renewal is limited to current tan permit holders.
Dartmouth Employee Carpool Discounts: Discounted monthly parking rates are available when carpool participants are all Dartmouth employees. Contact Transportation Services for more information.
Named Reserved Space – surface parking lots: Signed reserved parking space for guaranteed access to nearby facilities. There is limited access to this permit type.
Channing Cox Permit: Easy access to nearby West End facilities, with limited oversell and permits available. Renewal is limited to current Channing Cox permit holders. Join the Channing Cox waitlist on the parking portal.
Anderson Parking Garage - card access: Excellent access to nearby West End facilities in the new garage. All parking spaces are covered in the gated parking facility with card entry.
Anderson Parking Garage with reserved space - card access: Ultimate access to nearby West End facilities in the new garage. Covered reserved spaces located on uppermost levels in the gated facility with card entry.
North Park: Covered and uncovered reserved parking spaces located at North Park housing on the east edge of campus.
Borwell Lot at DHMC option: With pre-approval, available to employees who work on the DHMC campus and would like to park in reserved sections of the Borwell Lot at DHMC. Employee Borwell permits may also park in the Channing Cox, Ledyard, Dewey, F and G lots.
Thompson Permit: Allows access to Thompson Arena lot on South Park Street. The Dartmouth/Downtown Hanover Shuttle, operated by Advance Transit, provides free shuttle service from Thompson Arena to campus and downtown. For route information, please see: www.advancetransit.com. Renewal is limited to current Thompson permit holders. Join the Thompson waitlist on the parking portal.
Dewey Permit: Allows access to Dewey lot north of the medical school. The Dartmouth/Downtown Hanover Shuttle, operated by Advance Transit, provides free shuttle service from the Dewey Lot to campus and downtown. For route information please see: www.advancetransit.com.
Lewiston Permit: Allows access to the Lewiston Lot in Norwich, VT, just over Ledyard Bridge. The MobiliD shuttle has service from the Lewiston lot to Tuck Circle year-round.
Commuting Alternatives and Getting Around Campus
- Advance Transit, TVT Stagecoach and The Moover: Free bus service for employees and part of a broader effort to decrease traffic congestion in the region. Commuting by transit is a great alternative to driving alone.
- Carpooling is a fun, easy, and cost-saving way to share seats in your car or catch a ride. Visit Transportation Services rideshare page for more information.
- Zipcar: Book a Zipcar from the Dartmouth campus for a couple hours or the whole day. Do it online or on your phone via a mobile app.
- Dartmouth’s Campus Connector bus and the Dartmouth/Downtown Shuttle run by Advance Transit provide fixed route shuttle service to get around campus, plus to DHMC and Summit on Juniper. Track the Dartmouth Campus Connector buses and the Dartmouth Downtown shuttle.
- Mobility Shuttles: Designed door-to-door service operates year-round throughout the Dartmouth core campus, and is available to approved students, staff, and faculty. For persons who, because of physical impairment or medical condition, find it difficult or impossible to move around campus using the regular fully accessible services.
- Parking Lot Rides - The MobiliD shuttle provides weekday service by request for faculty, staff, and students between Tuck Circle, Lewiston Lot, Ledyard Lot, and the A-lot. Use of the MobiliD app is required to request and schedule a ride for only you.
