Transportation Services Accessibility
Dartmouth recognizes all valid State issued accessible parking plates and placards. Dartmouth requires students and employees with State issued accessible parking passes to also register with Transportation Services and obtain a Dartmouth parking permit.
State Issued Accessible Parking Permits & Plates
Dartmouth requires employees and students with a state issued accessible parking permit to register with Transportation Services and obtain a separate campus accessible parking permit. Vehicles that display both a valid accessible state issued permit and Dartmouth issued permit may park in a campus accessible space at no cost.
Visitors who park in Dartmouth accessible spaces with a valid state issued accessible parking permit displayed between 6am – 5pm, weekdays, must register their visit with Transportation Services at (603) 646-2340.
Temporary Accessible Transportation Services - Employees & Students
Dartmouth College provides curb-to-curb core campus paratransit rides on the MobiliD paratransit shuttle for students and employees who have long- or short-term mobility challenges. Please see our webpage for more information on the mobility rides program.
While MobiliD provides microtransit rides to and from limited campus locations for all students and employees (including the A-lot, Ledyard Lot, Lewiston Lot, and Tuck Circle), those approved for paratransit rides are provided with priority access to the entire campus, including the Dewey Lot and Thompson Lot. The MobiliD shuttle operates Monday – Friday, 7am – 7pm. Parking on the core campus is allowed outside of MobiliD operating hours, except during the 2am-6am winter parking ban in place November 1 – March 31 each year.
If you sustain an injury or other condition that temporarily limits your mobility, you can email Transportation Services’ Mobility Rides Office to be approved for two weeks of access to MobiliD paratransit rides. In addition, if you have a car on campus, Transportation Services can offer you a permit to park in eligible areas based on your classification as an undergraduate student, graduate or professional student, or employee.
If you believe you require more than two weeks of access to MobiliD rides:
- Students should CC Dartmouth College Health Service on their email to Mobility Rides. Dartmouth College Health Services will need to approve a period greater than two weeks.
- Graduate students, faculty, and staff should CC the ADA/504 Coordinator on their email to Mobility Rides. The ADA/504 Coordinator will need to approve a period greater than two weeks.
Disability Accommodation Requests
If you believe that MobiliD services may not meet all of your needs,
- Undergraduate and Bachelors of Engineering (“BE”) students should complete Student Accessibility Services’ Temporary Condition Assistance Request application.
- Graduate and professional school students, faculty, and staff should complete their respective request forms and email the ADA/504 Coordinator.
Accommodation requests may take up to two weeks; this aligns with the grace period offered by the Mobility Rides Office. The ADA/504 Coordinator or Student Accessibility Services will notify Transportation Services of any approved transportation-related accommodations (which are provided at no cost).
