Local Charity Events

Doing good for others while doing what's good for you--charity runs and walks. Please note, this is not a complete list of local charity events. Are you organizing a charity event?  Let us know!

The Prouty (July) - Hanover, NH:

The Prouty is northern New England’s largest family-friendly fundraising event combining cycling, walking, rowing, golf and more to raise funds and awareness for life-saving research and critical patient and family support services at Dartmouth Cancer Center.

Covered Bridges Half-Marathon (June)- Woodstock, VT:

The BEST 13.1 miles in New England! The race donates more than $75,000 each year to local non-profit groups focused on youth activities and youth sports in the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire. A cap of 2,300 runners; the on-line registration fills quickly each year, usually in a few minutes from the time that it “goes live” in December.

Skip Matthews Memorial Father's Day Run (June)- Lebanon, NH:

Choose from a 4-mile race or a 1-mile walk/fun-run (kids welcome!) All proceeds benefit the Brain Tumor Research Fund at Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

Walk to End Alzheimer's (October) - Hanover, NH:

All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.

CHaD HERO (October) – Hanover, NH

Choose to take part in our Half Marathon, 5K run, 5K walk, 1-Mile “Cams Course” Fun Run events or join us as a volunteer or a virtual participant. This family friendly event offers something for everyone including the CHaD HERO Festival complete with games, food and fun for all ages.

When you join the CHaD HERO, you’re joining an incredible community dedicated to helping kids and their families in our region. The CHaD HERO celebrates and fundraises for Dartmouth Health Children's and the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD).

Thanks to the continued generosity of The Jack & Dorothy Byrne Foundation, we are pleased to announce that all CHaD HERO participant funds will be matched 1-to-1 (until the match is complete). This means the donation of $25 you ask for today is worth $50!

Looking for a team to join?  Join the Lone Pine Heroes Team--open to all Dartmouth staff, faculty, students, families, and friends! Questions about the team should be directed to wellness@dartmouth.edu.
