Institutional Accounting
Mission
Institutional Accounting is responsible for the timely recording and safekeeping of Dartmouth's cash assets, the administration for departmental acceptance of merchant credit cards, and the timely and accurate processing of payments for goods received and services rendered.
Functions include:
- maintaining and reconciling the Dartmouth's bank accounts
- handling of fraudulent activity against Dartmouth College’s bank accounts
- completion of all Electronic Payment Authorization Forms for incoming funds
- accountability of all incoming Wire Transfers, EFT's and ACH transactions
- accounts payable payment processing
- shared responsibility of corporate and procurement card processing program
- shared oversight for Merchant Credit Card Program
- reporting and filing of abandoned property
- valuation of security gifts and accountability of proceeds
- filing of 1099 tax forms for accounts payable payments
